It is not uncommon for a coach to try to excite the home crowd before a game but the Cincinnati Bengals are going above and beyond this week. Cincinnati will be taking on the Minnesota Vikings at home as one of four absolutely critical games to close out the regular season for the Queen City team. The coaching staff might be taking that to the extreme in this game.
Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor Urges Fanbase to get Rowdy
In an unprecedented action, Cincinnati Head Coach Zac Taylor issues a hilarious provocation to his local supporters. “I do challenge our fans. We’ve got outstanding fans,” Taylor said.
“Drink one more drink and rush in the stadium and be as loud as you can humanly, possibly be,” he summarized through a chuckle.
It is important to note that this game will be played on a Saturday afternoon and most fans will be able to sleep it off well before they go into work on Monday. While this might be an NFL game, Coach Taylor is doing his best effort to turn this into a chaotic college atmosphere before Minnesota arrives.

Paycor Stadium (formerly Paul Brown Stadium) has become one of the toughest places to play in the NFL as the fans in Cincinnati are as loyal as any in the National Football League. After the performances of backup quarterback Jake Browning and the teams chances of making it to the playoffs, it is likely that the stadium will be an absolute madhouse this upcoming weekend.
While it may be conveyed by some as being a fairly irresponsible comment for a public figure to make, everyone I have spoken to heading to the game has taken the coaches challenge on a lighter note but with the intended purpose in mind. And on the subject of how seriously one should take it that seriously, below is an Instagram story shared by Coach Taylor’s wife.
Clearly Zac Taylor shouldn’t be taken too seriously but his challenge on the fans to take homefield advantage seriously has been passed on. I certainly will be joining my fellow Cincinnatians in drinking an extra Rhinegeist (basically two after having a 10 month old) and cheering just a little bit louder. Who Dey!
