Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens had a 2023-24 NFL regular season to remember. For starters, they clinched the top seed in the AFC. Now, they are eagerly waiting for their divisional round opponent. In the meantime, Jackson received recognition from the NFLPA after being disrespected by fans the week prior.
Lamar Jackson Makes Players’ All-Pro First Team
Recently, the NFLPA held a vote to determine who players felt deserved to be on the All-Pro First Team in each position. Now, that vote has been revealed. Lamar Jackson led this roster as the quarterback to represent the Players’ All-Pro First Team.
It means that the players determined that Jackson was the best quarterback in the NFL this year. This is an interesting contrast to the fan vote for the Pro Bowl that came out last week.
Fans Disrespected Jackson in Pro Bowl Vote
Last week, the NFL Pro Bowl rosters were revealed. Shortly before that, the fan vote came out for each position. Lamar Jackson only received the seventh-most votes among quarterbacks in the NFL. If it were up to the fans, he would not have even made the AFC Pro Bowl roster. Yet, Jackson was the quarterback representative on the players’ team.
Baltimore Ravens Moving Forward
For Jackson, none of this is likely relevant. That is because the Baltimore Ravens have Super Bowl aspirations as the top seed in the AFC. After coming up short in past years in the playoffs, Jackson and the Ravens hope to get the monkey off of their back this season.
