Commissioner Roger Goodell came after Beckham Jr. for throwing up the peace sign while sprinting to the endzone for a touchdown last Sunday. Miami Dolphins superstar receiver Tyreek Hill took to Twitter (also known as X) the day of the incident, suggesting the three-time Pro-Bowler would face discipline from the NFL. Hill is the poster boy for throwing up the peace sign while running from defenders.
Baltimore Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr.: Among Handful of Players Fined this Weekend
The NFL is in line for a big payday on Saturday with the fines they distributed across the league. Odell Beckham Jr. and Dallas Cowboys defender Neville Gallimore received two lesser fines, while the Chargers’ Derwin James and Raiders rusher Josh Jacobs got hit with hefty penalties.
Roger Goodell and the NFL handed James the most significant fine of Week 10 for unnecessary roughness against Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds. A repeat offender, James earned himself a $43,710 docking. Meanwhile, Jacobs must pay $21,855 to the league office for leading with his helmet during a run against the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football. Additionally, Washington Commanders cornerback Emmanuel Forbes was fined $15,563 for a helmet-to-helmet hit against a defenseless Tyler Lockett.
Beckham Jr.: Developing Into a Key Contributor for the Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have used a hefty dose of Odell Beckham Jr. over the past few weeks. He has scored or eclipsed 100 yards in his past three games. The LSU product posted 116 yards in his team’s 34-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday. However, he suffered a shoulder injury in the contest, but it is not considered severe. Unfortunately, Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews suffered a season-ending injury. Beckham Jr. has 24 receptions for 374 yards and two touchdowns this season. He missed the entirety of last year with an injury.
