The Baltimore Ravens are knocking on the door of their first Super Bowl appearance since 2012. MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson is leading the way. He remains the heavy favorite to win his second Most Valuable Player Award after a stellar 2023 regular season. Jackson entered the league in 2018, and after one year under fellow gunslinger Joe Flacco, he took over as the team’s primary signal caller, posting historic numbers as a first-year starter. The Louisville product has played well during his six-year NFL career and is currently attempting to put his postseason woes behind him. However, on Fox Sports 1’s First Things First, host Nick Wright said Jackson is already a top 15 post-merger quarterback.
Nick Wright: Lists Lamar Jackson Among His Top 15 Post-Merger Quarterbacks

Wright listed his top 15 post-merger quarterbacks on Wednesday. Due to playing before the AFL-NFL merger, quarterbacks Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, and Otto Graham were ineligible to make the list. Wright made a splash early, revealing Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson as a member of his pyramid tier list.

On First Things First, Wright said, “We have a new person on the 15 greatest quarterbacks ever list; Lamar Jackson has to be on there. He has two league MVPs now; he at least has one great playoff game. He checks the boxes.”
Jackson is a borderline lock to win the MVP this season despite failing to post 30 total touchdowns. He finished outside the top ten in passing yards and touchdowns while accounting for 29 touchdowns over 13 turnovers. However, he led Baltimore to the best record in the NFL. The Ravens also housed the best defense regarding points per game allowed. Jackson will become the 11th player all-time to win multiple MVPs when he wins the award later in the year.
Wright continued, “Lamar, with a second MVP, which I am assigning him because we all believe he is going to get it, has to be on that list.”
Wright puts Lamar on the same level as Terry Bradshaw, Kurt Warner, Drew Brees, and Troy Aikman. Brees, Warner, Aikman, and Bradshaw have all won Super Bowls, but only Warner has won as many MVPs.
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson: Picked Over Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Among Others

Wright picked Jackson over notable names like Warren Moon, Ben Roethlisberger, and Eli Manning. Moon, a nine-time Pro Bowler and 1990 AP Offensive Player of the Year, led the league in passing yards twice while throwing an NFL-best 33 touchdowns in 1990. Meanwhile, Roethlisberger and Manning are multi-time champions. Roethlisberger led the league in passing yards twice while winning two Super Bowls. Meanwhile, Manning beat the New England Patriots and Tom Brady twice in the Super Bowl.
Jackson also topped former NFL MVP Matt Ryan, Super Bowl winner Matthew Stafford, and Denver Broncos signal-caller Russell Wilson.
