I have been writing for Gridiron Heroics since September 2022. I love to write about all things Sports. There is almost nothing that I can't talk sports and debate about, because with me, "It's all about the Sports."

Now that the NFL Combine is over it’s time to talk “Quarterback”.  Yes, let’s take a look at the four dominant quarterbacks that are leading the pack in this season’s rookie class. This year’s group is special because three-of-the-four played in the SEC which is known as college football’s top conference. The other quarterback played in this years CFP semi-final game and nearly led his team to the upset of the back-back national champion Georgia Bulldogs. 1. CJ Stroud (Ohio State Buckeyes) Odds for number 1 pick +500 Speaking of the near upset game against the Georgia Bulldogs, Stroud in…

While many changes were added by the NCAA committee in 2022, three major proposed rule changes were officially brought to the table and are now likely to go in play for the 2023 upcoming season. Game Clock The game clock would not stop after first downs, with the exception of the final two minutes of the half.  Finally, at least college adapts one-rule that matches the NFL, which keeps the clock running after a first down. This will also decrease the game time which some say is too long. Now, the next rule that bothers me that should be changed…

Welcome to the 2023 NFL Combine, where the best NFL draft prospects showcase their football skills, test their individual speed and coordination, all while doing so through a series of specific drills. The NFL Combine is being held @ Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. Live coverage will be available on the NFL Network. (See here for times/dates) New York Giants General Manager Joe Schoen was in attendance yesterday and had a lot to say about the contract situations of Quarterback Daniel Jones and Running Back Saquon Barkley. “I would love to have them both back,” Schoen said…

Just like the NFL has the Super Bowl, wouldn’t it be ideal if both Executive VP’s (Mr. Marc Ross) of the XFL and (Mr. Daryl Johnston) of the USFL joined together to discuss the possibility of hosting an annual “Spring Bowl”? The champions from each league would play against each other for a one-game-winner-takes-all. Changes to when the USFL would start In order to complete a 10-week season for both leagues (including playoffs), the USFL would need to start one-week earlier in order to get the “Spring Bowl” in before the NFL scouts start to look at the players in…

If anybody thought week one of the XFL was exciting to watch, there was even more action on the field in week two. Speaking of fields, did anyone see the playing surface and how muddy it was at Cashman field during the DC Defenders vs. Vegas Vipers game on Saturday? Yuck. It was rainy, muddy, and gross on that field and I felt really bad for the players who had to endure that toxic environment. To make matters even worse, the stadium was built in 1947 and it’s so old that the last NFL game played at Cashman field was…

Welcome football fans. I don’t know if it was me, but after watching the opening weekend of the XFL, I noticed that the referees were letting big hits go that would have been called penalties in the NFL, but I like that because the guys in stripes were letting the athletes play. After getting myself accustomed to some of the XFL rules that are different from the NFL, I thought that I would get you all up-to-date with them. I’m going to share with you my likes/dislikes after each rule because I can. 1. Kickoff Rules Both teams begin five-yards…

It was a great start to an exciting opening weekend for the XFL and their teams.  The fans were entertained with three out-of-the four contests going to the very end. After already writing about Five former NFL Stars ready to play in the 2023 XFL, it is now time to see how each player fared with their respected teams, after one weekend of competition. Saturday, Feb 18, 2023 The season opened up with the Arlington Renegades squeaking out a 22-20 win over the Vegas Vipers. The highlighted player in this game was Vipers Wide Receiver Martavis Bryant. The former Pittsburgh…

What a great first weekend of XFL football. After watching many of the games played, I didn’t realize how many Coaches in the league were big names who either played or coached in the NFL. We had a chance to here from one of the owners of the league, Dwayne “The Rock”, Johnson and he was excited to open up the season with an inspirational message, “You bring the dreams, we bring the opportunities,” he said. “XFL, Let’s Ball out Baby.” While many players did play in the NFL, as seen by my last story, let’s take a look at…

The XFL is here and the season kicks off this Saturday, February 18, 2023.  It will be held under a new ownership group featuring Dwayne, “The Rock” Johnson, his ex-wife and businesswoman Danny Garcia, and Founder of RedBird Capital, Gerry Cardinale. The league also hired a new president in former Buffalo Bills CEO Russ Brandon. These five players were once big names in the NFL, but are now looking to resurrect their professional football careers and possibly earn another shot in the fall. Let’s take a look at five players who took the jump from the NFL to the XFL;…

There are many players, coaches and others who take part in the NFL every year that deserve credit for the things that they do and accomplish.  The 2023 NFL Honor Awards takes a look at these accomplishments and awards these people for their many talents. I had the opportunity to write about some of the categories earlier in which I got right. Then on a couple of the categories I feel that they got wrong. Let’s take a look at some of these that took place back on Thursday, Feb 9, 2023 at Symphony Hall in Phoenix, AZ. Coach of…
