Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher reeled in the top recruiting class in the naion last spring. In fact, it was labeled the top ranked class of all-time (or at least since  they have been tracking recruiting). Texas A&M senior captain Ainias Smith was arrested early Wednesday morning in College Station. Smith was speeding at 70 mph down Univeersity Drive near the Northgate bar area after 2 a.m., which led to him being pulled over by Texas A&M University Police. Field sobriety tests led to the DWI charge, and a search of Smith’s car led police to find a loaded handgun and a rolled marijuana cigarette. It appears Jerry jones could finally get his man. The Dallas Cowboys are presumed to be the favorite to land Sean Payton as their next head football coach. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that an anonymous source close to Sean Payton announced what it would take to get the 58-year-old back to the sidelines. Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones has proven to be one of the most generous owners in sports over his 33 years. But his chinsey ways of recent may be prohibiting his beloved Cowboys from making another run at a Super Bowl. Jerry Jones has written big checks in the past Jones has written some of the biggest checks in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns released an allbatross from around their necks when they unloaded quarterback Baker Mayfield to the Carolina Panthers. The deal was first reported by CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones. Carolina sent a conditional fifth-round pick to Cleveland for Mayfield. The Panthers are responsible for just $5 million of Mayfield’s $18.5 million salary. Mayfield agreed to a $3.5 million base salary pay cut and Cleveland agreed to pay $10 of Mayfields salary.
