Nearly three weeks after Tony Alford’s departure, Ohio State hired former Oregon running back coach Carlos Locklyn as Aflord’s replacement. Locklyn inked a two-year deal with the Buckeyes after an impressive two seasons at Oregon. The inaugural season of the United Football League (UFL) kicks off this weekend and eight teams will compete to be the first-ever league champions. After competing with each other a season ago, the XFL and USFL merged to create the UFL and keep spring football alive. On Wednesday, March 21, news broke that the NCAA is officially seeking a country-wide ban on sports betting props involving collegiate athletes. This news comes during a week in which we’ve seen multiple scandals in professional baseball involving sports betting. The Ohio State Buckeyes will host the first-ever nationally televised spring game on Fox at noon on April 13. This also means the game will be aired on streaming platforms that offer Fox, such as YouTube TV and Hulu Live. One of the proudest traditions in the Ohio State football program is the removal of the ‘Black Stripe’ for incoming freshmen and transfers. The first time an incoming Buckeye steps foot on the field, a black stripe is placed over the red stripe on their helmet. When a player proves they are worthy enough of joining the Buckeye Brotherhood, that black stripe is removed.
