The Ohio State Buckeyes will host the first-ever nationally televised spring game on Fox at noon on April 13. This also means the game will be aired on streaming platforms that offer Fox, such as YouTube TV and Hulu Live. In previous seasons the game usually would air in the Noon time slot, but on Big 10 Network. The game was also carried on the Ohio State Sports Radio Network. General admission tickets start at $8.
Joel Klatt announced the news on his podcast, The Joel Klatt Show: A CFB Pod. Joel will be calling the game live on the broadcast. It was also announced that the Michigan spring game will take place on national TV a week later on April 20, on Fox.
“It’s going to be a big April with the NFL Draft, the UFL starting, and these marquee programs [having] their spring games on big FOX.”

What Fans Can Expect the Ohio State Spring Game to Look Like?
The Ohio State Spring game will be an intrasquad scrimmage that will be the finale of the team’s 15 spring practices. Traditionally, the team was split into two teams, Scarlet and Gray, in the most even way possible. Recently head coach Ryan Day changed the format to an offense versus defense style game.
The offense will score points traditionally through touchdowns, field goals, and point-after-attempts. The defense will score points through touchdowns, turnovers, and forced punts.
Due to this being an intrasquad scrimmage, player safety will be a point of emphasis for the refs so fans should expect there to be a quick whistle to avoid massive collisions. While this could affect the entertainment level of the game, entering the season as healthy as possible is a goal for every team heading into the new season.
Who Will be Suiting Up for Ohio State in the Spring Game?
This will be Ohio State fans’ first opportunity to see what the team will look like in 2024. New transfer and freshman players like Will Howard, Caleb Downs, Quinshon Judkins, Jeremiah Smith, and Air Noland, will put on the scarlet and gray for the first time. Fans should also expect to see familiar faces like Emeka Egbuka, JT Tuimoloau, and TreVeyon Henderson.
Players will be competing for starting positions and looking to prove themselves on the field. The competition that will receive the most attention is at the quarterback position. After the departure of Kyle McCord, who transferred to Syracuse, the Buckeyes will look to name a new starting quarterback. All signs point to Kansas State transfer Will Howard winning the job, however, returning junior Devin Brown will look to prove that he can lead the Buckeyes high powered offense. Freshman Air Noland, Alabama transfer Julian Sayin, and returning sophomore Lincoln Keinholz will also look to fight to get their name in the conversation.
