The Detroit Lions defense ranked 31st last season in points allowed. While the team significantly upgraded their defensive line by drafting Aidan Hutchinson 2nd overall, many questions still loomed over what this defense would look like heading into 2022. Detroit stayed relatively quiet in free agency regarding the defense, leaving fans to ponder if we would be sending out the same secondary as last season. For the most part, that remains true. However, head coach Dan Campbell made it official at training camp that there would be multiple position changes in the secondary, including Ifeatu Melifonwu and Will Harris.  Ifeatu Melifonwu:…

Aaron Glenn, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator, recently joined ESPN’s Adam Schefter’s podcast. While many have praised the Lions for upgrading their offense this off-season, Aaron Glenn assures fans there is one thing that will give Detroit an advantage on defense.  “The only advantage we (defenses) actually have is fear. That’s the only advantage we have. So we want to make you fear us. Listen, we’re not saying we are trying to hurt anybody. But, we want to bring old-school football back. We want to pound you, we want to play with violence, and we’re going to make sure we attack the football and…

The Detroit Lions season is right around the corner. The 2022 campaign should be excited for fans of the team, as the Lions are set to build from the foundation Dan Campbell built last year in his first season with Detroit. On paper, the Offense has improved drastically. On the other hand, the Defense will rely on players who haven’t quite made a name for themselves in the NFL. However, the key to improving the Defense this season is the ability to pressure the opposing QB.  In 2021, the Lions had the 29th most sacks in the NFL. Without making Quarterbacks uncomfortable, defensive backs’ jobs…

Headed into the Kentucky Derby in 2022, Rich Strike had 80-1 betting odds to win the race. The rest is history. As of July 18, the Detroit Lions have 55-1 odds to win the NFC.
