Football is officially back. All 32 NFL teams have officially reported to training camp to begin the 2022-23 season. Football fans everywhere are itching for the most popular sport in America to return to our televisions. While we wait, writers and publications begin to predict teams’ records for the season, now that Free Agency is mostly complete. One writer at USA Today, Nate Davis, suggested the Detroit Lions will finish the season with enough wins to position themselves.
Davis said the Lions would finish the season 8-9. This is one game off from what I predicted in my official season predictions, where I projected them to finish 9-8. The Vikings were also expected to finish 8-9 according to Davis, of USA Today. He also had the Bears ending with just four wins, and the Packers taking the division easily.
Davis emphasized the culture the Lions have built in his piece. He praised Dan Campbell for the atmosphere he built, while also mentioning he is a “betting darling” in Vegas to win coach of the year.
With the season rapidly approaching, the Lions continue to gain the attention of the national eye. Whether it be for their new flashy offense, the charm of Motor City Dan Campbell (MCDC for short), or both, the Lions fans should be more excited for their upcoming season than any other year in the past decade.
