Aaron Glenn, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator, recently joined ESPN’s Adam Schefter’s podcast. While many have praised the Lions for upgrading their offense this off-season, Aaron Glenn assures fans there is one thing that will give Detroit an advantage on defense.
“The only advantage we (defenses) actually have is fear. That’s the only advantage we have. So we want to make you fear us. Listen, we’re not saying we are trying to hurt anybody. But, we want to bring old-school football back. We want to pound you, we want to play with violence, and we’re going to make sure we attack the football and play fast.”

Glenn also spoke about his playing career on the podcast. He explained he was never the biggest guy on the field but always had the biggest heart. It’s that type of attitude he wants to bring back to Detroit.
“It’s about one man whooping another man. That’s the essence of this game.”
Glenn also gave Lions fans the keys for the Detroit Lions defense to have success this season. It all revolves around three simple words.
“Disrupt, deny, and defend… The league has gotten away from those things. That’s why the passing game has exploded over the last ten years. So, we want to make sure we can bring those things back. That can be our advantage as the Lions. “
Glenn finished the podcast with Schefter by stating the goal for the Detroit Lions in 2022 is to make the playoffs. Although it may seem far-fetched to outsiders, the belief in each other within the organization is going to go a long way thing season.
