The Arizona Cardinals have been very busy in the first round of the draft. After trading back with the Houston Texans at three, they jumped back up by trading with the Detroit Lions. Kyler Murray was very vocal this week in wanting Paris Johnson Jr. out of Ohio State and they went and got him.

Arizona Cardinals Select Paris Johnson Jr.
The Cardinals get the sixth overall pick and pick number 81 as well. They give up 12, 34, and 168. Considering what they got for the Texans trade-up, this seems like a small price to pay. This is a home run of a pick. It makes your franchise quarterback happy and it fills a big need. The problem the Cardinals have had over the past couple of years is an inability to protect Kyler Murray. Now, Arizona hopefully has their offensive lineman of the future.

Building The Trenches And Gathering Picks
The Cardinals have nailed this draft so far. They have gathered up more picks for the future while also getting one of the best players in the draft at a premium position. The tackle position is one of the most important in football and the Cardinals have hopefully solved that issue for years to come. For a team that has done a lot of dumb things over the years, they finally seemed to have nailed a draft.
The Arizona Cardinals have to be happy about getting Paris Johnson Jr. in the building. Offensive linemen are never sexy picks but vital ones.
