The Browns will have to cut down their roster by five players by Tuesday, and Anthony Schwartz may be headed out soon.
Now, it’s hard to be too tough on Anthony Schwartz since he is just now coming back from a knee injury, but his performance in the Browns’ first pre-season game was pathetic. With Deshaun Watson having a pretty ugly Browns debut, Schwartz didn’t really help him out. Watson went one for five on seven yards, with two of his incompletions were because of Schwartz dropping the ball.
There was even a moment when Watson was visibly frustrated because Schwartz couldn’t make the play.

Anthony Schwartz Has to Play Better to Stay on the Team
Schwartz will probably make the Browns’ roster, though. But, he does have to play better than other receivers to get playing time.
David Bell has been playing really well for the Browns, so he should be a nice piece for the Browns on offense. And then, you have someone like Michael Woods II who could really compete for Schwartz’s spot.

But, Michael Woods is out with a hamstring injury. So, you would think Schwartz would take the time he’s been gone to prove himself. He has not done that, though.
Woods has played really well in training camp, and head coach Kevin Stefanski is ready for him to get back onto the field.
“He’s really intelligent. He had a nice spring for us, moved him around in our formation and he picked it up pretty quickly. So we’re excited about getting him back out here. Like anything, I want him to catch up real fast, and I know he does too. So he’s excited to be back out here.”
Schwartz will more than likely make the Browns roster. But, he’ll really have to make an impact to get playing time over someone like David Bell or Michael Woods.
