A quick turnaround for the Los Angeles Rams’ former 7th round wideout.
Los Angeles Rams Team Captain Having Fewer Opportunities To Shine
Having been previously been reported that Ben Skowronek, who had 2 receptions for 12 yards in the Rams’ 23-20 win against the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, was being cut by the team, it now seems that another suitor has come in to ensure the Northwestern man’s services.
Skowronek has certainly had an above average career for one drafted with the 249th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Over the first 2 years of his career he managed a combined 509 yards; a very reasonable depth, 4-5th option at receiver for a team vying for championships.
However, with the return of Cooper Kupp, shocking rise of rookie star, Puka Nacua and development of former 2nd round pick, Tutu Atwell, Skowronek was limited to just 13 yards off of 2 receptions in 2023, all but ensuring his now finalized departure from the organization.
And now, his new home has been revealed, as Tom Pelissero reports that Ben Skowronek has been traded to the Houston Texans.
Trade! The #Rams are sending WR Ben Skowronek to the #Texans, per sources.

Houston Texans Adding Another Face To An Already Stacked Receiver Room
The Houston Texans are evidently insistent that come rain or shine, there will be at least one reliable receiver for last season’s rookie sensation, CJ Stroud, to throw to.
Alongside an already impressive unit coming out of last season that included Nico Collins, impressive 3rd round pick, Tank Dell, Noah Brown, and Robert Woods, that already gave former 2nd round pick, John Metchie II barely any playing time, the Texans have now added All-Pro, Stefon Diggs, and now Skowronek.
The Texans now have at least 7 proven receivers that they can feel genuinely good about on their roster, if, that is, all them make the final 53 man cut.
Clearly, head coach, DeMeco Ryans and general manager, Nick Caserio, are making the most out of the Stroud’s prime rookie contract years to assemble as high powered a team as they possibly can, having already signed Pro Bowlers, Danielle Hunter and Joe Mixon back in March.
Let’s see if this pays off for the Texans, and if they are able to be the ones to finally provide an adequate opponent to the multi-year reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
