Some were excited to watch the XFL Week 2 games, only to be disappointed in the condition of the field. It seems as though the momentum from last week has been taken a different direction, as everyone is talking about it. During the Vegas Vipers and DC Defenders matchup, viewers were not shy about taking their opinions of the field to Twitter. The general consensus is that the Cashman Field in Las Vegas just didn’t cut it.

Some were pretty passionate about the whole thing.
The community at large agrees #xfl @xfl issue a statement and apologize for the conditions of this field. XFL should feel on par with NFL in terms of quality and entertainment. This game and venue wasn’t it. Fix it and do Better. https://t.co/rq4X2b6pQw

Journalist James Larsen got pretty candid with his opinion on the poor condition of the Vipers home field. He even went on to mention the cameras, suggesting “lens wipes.”
Like…what the heck is this? They had plenty of time to prepare this field for the season, despite the chaos of settling for Cashman. Not a great look for the #XFL, considering they have other teams playing at incredible venues such as The Dome. pic.twitter.com/GNQM6EwCy1

Hey @ESPN, can we get the camera man some lens wipes or something? Feel like I'm watching ghosts out here. What a…unique, night, for the #XFL. pic.twitter.com/mSGXOVj38t

Some viewers say it isn’t just the XFL that needs to step up the field maintenance, but all football leagues.
#xfl #xfl2023 @XFL2023 @XFLDefenders @XFLVipers @NFL @ESPNNFL I have seen more issues with football fields in the past 9 months then I've ever seen in my life watching football. These field conditions for no matter any league have been horrendous throughout the past 9 months.

There are also a handful of people who don’t see it as a problem and think we need to give it time before expecting the XFL field to compare to the NFL field.

Here are some of my personal favorite Tweets about the field in Vegas tonight:
I’ve played football in cow fields in better shape than the Vegas XFL field. https://t.co/u3o8MdCFso

I WANT TO BELIEVE BUT The crowd, field and on field play look like shit #XFL2023 #XFL #NFL #CFL #USFL @USFLAmerica @CFLAmerica @AmericaGridiron pic.twitter.com/QcCIntAk9N

The field in this #XFL game is making this almost unwatchable
To just spray paint some dead grass on a field that isn’t meant for football is an absolute failure
After being fairly impressed by the league so far, this is BAD #XFL2023 #FangGang #DefendDC pic.twitter.com/6mxagFBcnp
