The San Francisco 49ers, while favorites for a wild card spot this season, have lost to the Chicago Bears 19-10. The Niners had many opportunities to win the game but squandered them throughout the second half. San Francisco had been sloppy throughout the game, with weather conditions not helping. A core reason the Niners have lost this game was the quarterback play being weak, with Trey Lance throwing an interception and being ineffective overall. The quarterback situation was a concern for the 49ers coming into this season and will still be one today. The entire offense has stagnated throughout the game only, scoring 10 in the second and third quarters. The defense also folded against Chicago in the fourth quarter, allowing 12 points for the Bears to win. The Niners have a long season to correct course but need to stabilize the team enough to win.

What went wrong for the Niners lost
The Niners played the game well with the design runs to Deebo Samuel, but the offensive line, alongside Lance, could not take advantage. Elijah Mitchell also got injured during the game against the Bears. The Niners also had trouble with the secondary playmaking, so the Bears took advantage of it. San Fran tried their best to take advantage of a weak Bears, but the offense along, with terrible weather conditions. Trey Lance did not play well, throwing 13 of 28 with an interception. The Niner’s defense also had fallen apart, letting Justin Fields throw two crucial touchdowns for the win. The Bears got away with the win, and the 49er’s schedule will be at home in Seattle. This season, there is hope for the Niners, but they will need to fix their flaws to compete for the playoffs.
