The NFL Scouting Combine is set to get underway later this week. One of the players invited to the Combine was Washington Huskies WR Rome Odunze. Odunze is one of the top wide receivers on the draft board. This is why his latest announcement regarding the Combine deserves a lot of attention.
Rome Odunze Will Run and Test at Combine
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Odunze plans on running and testing at the NFL Scouting Combine. This is relevant because several star players have already announced that they are waiting until their Pro Day to run drills. On top of this, Odunze appears to be the only star wide receiver to be participating at the Combine. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers have already revealed they will not run or test at the Combine.
Washington Huskies Representing at the Combine
Odunze was not the only member of the Huskies invited to the Combine. Washington has nine members of their offense at the Combine alone. This includes QB Michael Penix Jr., who will also throw at the Combine.
Rome Odunze’s Projection
Right now, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com has Odunze as the second-best wide receiver prospect and the third overall prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. Odunze may want to participate to try to get the edge over top wide receiver prospect Marvin Harrison Jr. We will have to see how this plays out.
