Dan Lanning is one of the best young coaches in college football and is heading into his third year as the head coach at Oregon. The last two seasons have been very exciting for Ducks fans. This season will be fun because Oregon has moved into the Big Ten. They will have to go up against last year’s champions, Michigan and Ohio State, among the favorites to win it all this upcoming year.
Dan Lanning Has A Chance To Be The Number One Coach In The Big Ten
Luckily for Oregon, they have a great team themselves, and their head coach might just be the best one in the Big Ten; now that Michigan’s former head coach Jim Harbaugh is no longer at the school and in the NFL, there is not a clear cut number one coach in the Big Ten. Right now, it is Ohio State’s Ryan Day, but Dan Lanning will make a great case to be the number one guy, and a new media poll that just came out thinks he could win Big Ten Coach of the Year.
Dan Lanning Is The Favorite To Be The Big Ten Coach Of The Year
Big Ten Media days started on Monday, and what better way to kick it off than with a poll that shows us who will win the conference Coach of the Year? Cleveland.com came out with their media poll for different rankings and awards, and Dan Lanning is taking home Big Ten Coach of the Year in his first season in the league.

Lanning will have to prove himself to beat Ohio State and Michigan and find a way to the Big Ten title game to win the award. There is no question that Lanning could win the award, but he could also have growing pains having to go into a new conference and play different teams he has never seen before.
It will be interesting to see how Oregon adapts to the Big Ten. A lot of times, when teams change conferences, they have to figure out the style of play the opposing teams play, and in the Big Ten, they like to run the ball and play physical defense, something the PAC-12 never wanted to seem to do. If any coach can adapt to the conference quickly, it is Lanning, so it’s going to be a fun season in the conference, and they have a chance to take over as the best conference in all of college football.
