Former Washington Commanders linebacker and Nebraska Cornhuskers star Will Compton continues to trend on Tuesday after going viral in response to Rashard Mendenhall’s tweet on Monday. Mendenhall took to social media yesterday and suggested replacing the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White Bowl, sparking a debate in his comments. However, Compton took a more light-hearted approach, making a four-minute video constructing the roster for the All-White team.

Former Washington Commanders LB Will Compton: Presents All-White Team

In a hilarious video presentation, Compton proposes his football team consisting of only white NFL players. The Nebraska product puts superstars Joe Burrow and Josh Allen at quarterback, with MVP candidate Christian McCaffrey at running back. Despite being among the few white rushers in the league, McCaffrey leads the NFL with a ludicrous 1,292 rushing yards through 14 games. He has also caught 57 passes for 509 yards and seven touchdowns.

Additionally, Compton put together an offensive line featuring Jason Kelce, Chris Lindstrom, Quenton Nelson, Kolton Miller, and Lane Johnson. Kelce, Johnson, and Nelson have combined for 15 Pro Bowl nods. Meanwhile, Compton assembled an offensive skill position group headlined by Cooper Kupp and the tight end position. Kupp is two years removed from winning the triple crown at wide receiver, while All-Pros George Kittle and Travis Kelce can play tight end. Among the other offensive skill players are rookie sensation Puka Nacua, Pro-Bowler Adam Thielen, and star fullback Kyle Juszczyk

Defensively, Compton suggests the All-White team will play zone coverage while leaning on their star pass rushers. Those getting after the quarterback would be Chargers star Joey Bosa, his brother and NFL Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa, future Hall of Famer T.J. Watt, and Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby. The linebacker group will house All-Pro Matt Milano and tackling machine Logan Wilson.

However, the secondary group takes a hit, with Compton putting McCaffrey next to Harrison Smith in the backend, forcing the San Francisco star to play both ways. He also opts to go outside the NFL to find corners, snagging defensive backs formerly or currently as a part of the Iowa Hawkeyes football program. Current Denver Broncos corner Riley Moss is the party suggested by Compton.

Rashard Mendenhall: Goes Viral on Monday

Mendenhall took to Twitter on Monday, tweeting, “I’m sick of average white guys commenting on football. Y’all not even good at football. Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football. I’m better than ur goat.”

The tweet has hit over 65.7 million views as of Tuesday morning, with NFL greats like J.J. Watt responding. Mendenhall played six years in the NFL, winning the Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a rookie in 2008. He ran for a career-high 1,273 yards in 2019.
