The Washington Commanders are getting ready to sign OC
The Washington Commanders are targeting one offensive coordinator hard this week. Reports came out earlier this week the Commanders were interviewing Eric Bieniemy this week for their offensive coordinator vacancy. He might have the job as soon as this afternoon.
The Chiefs offensive coordinator had just finished their season Sunday, as Bieniemy and the team would celebrate their second Super Bowl victory in four years. Head coach Andy Reid offered Bieniemy much of the credit for the Chiefs’ offense in the game. The Chiefs scored on every possession in the second half to mount a double-digit halftime deficit. The Commanders could use some of that help.
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, Bieniemy is expected to be named the offensive coordinator in Washington. However, the final details of his contract have not been worked out completely.
Sources: The #Commanders and #Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy have mutual interest and it’s trending in the right direction toward him being their new coordinator. Both sides are working through specifics, but Bieniemy is the top choice. If all goes well, this should be official today. pic.twitter.com/55qiJdOGPQ

This would be a huge get for a Commanders’ offense that has struggled in recent years to do its part of complementing an elite defense.
