The Washington Commanders are looking at a top OC
The Washington Commanders need to find ways to score points next season. The Commanders’ defense was ranked eighth for most points given up for the 2022 season. But the offense kept the Commanders from reaching the playoffs last season. They’re looking to find ways to improve their offense with a top offensive mind.
The Commanders fired offensive coordinator Scott Turner after their season. He had been in Washington for the previous three seasons. According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Commanders are interviewing Eric Bieniemy for the open position. He will meet with the Washington Commanders on Thursday and is considered the top candidate for the job.

Bieniemy has been the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator since the 2018 season. He’s won two Super Bowls with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid during that time. He’s considered one of the best offensive coordinators in the league.
However, because of Reid’s stature, many teams don’t seem to give Bieniemy full credit for the Chiefs’ offensive success. Reid gave Bieniemy a lot of praise following the Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night.
If Bieniemy can succeed with the Commanders, he should be able to land a head coaching job reasonably easily.
