As always, leagues are won with post-draft acquisitions. While, you can win on drafting talent alone, the waiver wire is primarily where losses can become wins. Looking ahead, let’s see how we can improve your chances in your next matchup with the our weekly Waiver Wire Week 4 Edition.
I’m en-route to Las Vegas and want to make sure this gets out in time! BIG MONEY! Let’s crack open Waiver Wire Week 4 Edition Fantasy Football Family
Key Injuries to consider:
- Dak & Eli Mitchell both still out
- Chris Godwin (Hamstring) likely returning week 5
- Mac Jones (Ankle) heading to IR, 4 weeks missed minimum.
- D’Andre Swift (Shoulder) no significant issue; may miss time, week 4 in doubt
- Dalton Schultz (Knee) week 4; likely to return
- David Montgomery (Leg) prognosis was good; day-to-day
- Dalvin Cook (Shoulder) pulled from the game; he wants to play week 4
Waiver Wire targets by positions
Quarterbacks
- Jacoby Brissett @ATL – rostered: 4% Yahoo / 1.5% ESPN
- Marcus Mariota vs CLE – rostered: 22% Yahoo / 25.1% ESPN
- Cooper Rush vs WAS – rostered 3% Yahoo / 2% ESPN
Brissett, while, not a sexy option has certainly been a productive option for fantasy over the last two weeks. Going against a juicy fantasy matchup in the Atlanta defense, Brissett is a great option to scoop up this week. With Mac Jones expecting to miss time it’d be a good time to start looking at getting long term options such as Brissett.
Running backs
- Khalil Herbert @NYG – rostered: 49% Yahoo / 25.2% ESPN
- Jamaal Williams vs SEA – rostered: 61% Yahoo / 44.3% ESPN
- Alexander Mattison @NO – rostered: 55% Yahoo / 37.1% ESPN
- J.D. McKissic @DAL – rostered: 26% Yahoo / 43.6% ESPN
If week 3 has proved anything it’s that handcuffing your RBs is important. This past week we saw injuries to Monty, Swift and Cook, which instantly made Herbert, Williams and Mattison RB1 players. Since these players are still reasonably available I would recommend scooping them up while they are there! McKissic does have standalone value as a receiving option, as he’s not the traditional handcuff option in Washington’s backfield.
Wide Receivers
- Noah Brown vs WAS – rostered: 19% Yahoo / 12.9% ESPN
- Romeo Doubs vs NE – rostered: 25% Yahoo / 16.1% ESPN
- Greg Dortch @CAR – rostered: 17% Yahoo / 7.3% ESPN
- Richie James vs CHI – rostered: 3% Yahoo / 2.1% ESPN
It’s pretty obvious on my choices in Brown, Doubs and Dortch. I’m highlighting James as a pickup this week. With Golladay being ineffective and Shepard going down with an injury, James target share should increase even more. He has a been a consistent option over the last 3 weeks as well:
- Week 1: 5 receptions on 59 yards – 11.1 fantasy points
- Week 2: 5 receptions on 51 yards – 10.1 fantasy points
- Week 3: 4 receptions on 36 yards – 8 fantasy points
Tight Ends
- Tyler Conklin @PIT – rostered: 21% Yahoo / 11.5% ESPN
- Robert Tonyan vs NE –rostered: 29% Yahoo / 16% ESPN
Conklin has made himself known over the last 3 week He has had 24 targets with 18 catches and 140 yards. While not an attention grabbing number, it certainly can earn you a spot on fantasy teams. As long as he continues to see consistent volume, he should be considered week-to-week starter until further notice.
