The most important part of Fantasy Football may be the draft, but the winner isn’t decided then and there. There are many things that a good team manager can do to improve their chances to win. One of the best tools is the trade. These are the Fantasy Football players to Buy and Sell in trades right now.
In all types of trading, the motto is “buy low and sell high”. It’s no different for Fantasy Football. One of the best things to do is target really good players that have bad weeks. This can be due to injury, bad performance, or just the “game script” not suiting the player. The elite players like Ja’Marr Chase and Davante Adams are unlikely to be traded, even after their week two slumps. The players to buy are the ones that could become elite, but had down weeks, or slow starts.
Buy Targets
D’Andre Swift:
This is one of my favourite buy targets. Swift is an incredibly talented Running Back. He is young, athletic and on what seems to be a good Detroit Lions offense. He is currently not though of as one of the elite, big name Running Backs, so his cost won’t be as high as someone like Saquon Barkley who also had a great week one performance. Swift has been considered an injury risk, and didn’t play many snaps in week two. What he did with them however was very impressive. On top of that, people are still unsure about trusting the Detroit Lions players. The best part is that Swift gets to face the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears in the Fantasy Football Playoff weeks. This will likely be your only chance to steal him away.
Michael Pittman Jr.:
Pittman is a great buy low target. He has shown his talent back in week 1, but then got hurt and missed week two. It is clear the Indianapolis Colts’ offense doesn’t work without him, with how bad they looked in week two. Quarterback Matt Ryan has loved to target one elite Wide Receiver during his career. This year should be no different. He is a great WR on a team that desperately needs him. He has the talent and the volume to be fantastic for Fantasy Football this year. Now is the time to buy him.
Sell Candidates
Clyde Edwards-Helaire:
Clyde is one of my sell candidates. He’s the lead Running Back on a great Kansas City Chiefs offense, but the problem comes with his volume. In two weeks he has only received 15 carries. He is relying solely on receiving work and touchdowns for his fantasy production. While those touchdowns could continue, they are scary to rely on. I am not saying to give Clyde away for cheap, however you should be able to use him in a package deal to upgrade at any position.
Terry McLaurin:
Terry McLaurin was an exciting draft pick this year. With loads of talent, and now a big contract, everyone was hoping he would be great. The problem is that his teammates are as well. He is no longer the reception or snap leader for the Washington Commanders WRs. He started the year with an easier schedule, and has fallen behind both other WRs on his team. I do not trust QB Carson Wentz to consistently support multiple WRs in this offense. Sell McLaurin while he still has name value and hope around him.
The are always Fantasy Football players to Buy and Sell in trades. Right now I think these four are important ones to shape your fantasy team with. Utilize hot starts like Clyde to your advantage and attempt to get potential difference makers like Swift. Some managers care too much about how highly a player was drafted (draft captial) and name value. Keep an eye out for my articles on who to target in trades, Here.
