The Jacksonville Jaguars revealed troubling news for Trevor Lawrence on Monday following the team’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
Lawrence entered the NFL’s concussion protocol following the game. Lawrence sustained the brain injury during one of his scrambles on the Jaguars’ final drive of the night.
Lawrence’s injury could put a huge kink in the Jaguars’ playoff chances. The Jaguars are 8-6 heading into Week 15, and they’re tied with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans for the lead atop the AFC South. The Jaguars’ Week 16 game will be against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who just blew out the Green Bay Packers on the road Sunday.
The Jacksonville Jaguars provide an update for Lawrence
According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson provided a terse update on Lawrence Monday. He said Lawrence has a chance to play the Buccaneers but said he couldn’t speculate if Lawrence would.
Jaguars' HC Doug Pederson on whether Trevor Lawrence will be able to make it through concussion protocol and play at Tampa Bay: "I'm not at liberty to speculate on head injuries. I can't say one way or another."

The decision isn’t up to Pederson or Lawrence. Lawrence must pass all of the phases of the protocol before he can play again. One would assume backup quarterback C.J. Beathard will get plenty of practice snaps this week to prepare for the Buccaneers.
