Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has established himself as one of the greatest tight ends of all time in the NFL. With multiple Super Bowl championships and other records, Kelce would most likely be a first-ballot hall of famer if he were to retire today. The star player shockingly revealed that he thinks about retirement “more than anyone could ever imagine,” which has sparked up several speculations that he could leave the league sooner than we think.

Travis Kelce Comments
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce spoke about the University of Cincinnati during Super Bowl 57 Opening Night, saying “I’ve always been extremely prideful about coming from the University of Cincinnati.”
Kelce had this to say about his thoughts on retiring:
“That’s the only thing I’ve never really been open about, the discomfort. The pain. The lingering injuries… the 10 surgeries I’ve had that I still feel every single surgery to this day.”
A lot of football fans and analysts say that the star tight end would be a first-ballot hall of famer if he were to retire today, and would still go down as one of the best tight ends in history. He also has a lot going for him outside of football, including his podcast “New Heights” with his brother Jason Kelce, and he is dating pop star Taylor Swift, so it’s not like money would be an issue for Travis.
Travis Kelce’s Career With the Chiefs
Kelce has been a dominant force in the league since he was drafted by the Chiefs back in 2013. He has amounted to 10,985 receiving yards and 74 touchdowns over his career, and that number continues to climb in his 2023 campaign. He has had over 1,000 yards receiving in every season since 2016 and is on pace to do so again in 2023, which he currently has 641 yards.
Kelce has been a huge asset in Kansas City’s success over the years and remains a dominant force to this day. The team is better when he is in the lineup, however, after these comments from the man himself, the Chiefs should probably start looking at potential replacements at tight end. If this team wins the Super Bowl yet again this year, we could see Kelce consider retirement sooner than we all think.
