Former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe heavily criticized Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce after the team’s stunning loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Kelce was seen at game one of the World Series in Texas on the Friday before the game, and it’s easy to say that Sharpe was not a huge fan of the decision.
Shannon Sharpe criticized #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce for attending the World Series game on Friday ahead of the #Broncos game.
Sharpe: "It’s a awful look, it's a terrible look… this is the NFL. You got a game on Sunday."

Shannon Sharpe Comments
Sharpe went on his rant on his podcast “The Nightcap Podcast” along with former NFL receiver Chad Johnson. He said, “We know the only receiver[Patrick Mahomes] can consistently count on is Travis Kelce, and he didn’t have his best day. And I’m kind of disappointed because, Friday night he was at the Rangers game.”
Johnson then asked Sharpe why Kelce attending the game was such a big deal, to which Sharpe responded “It’s the middle of the season.” He called Kelce’s performance an “awful look” which consisted of six catches for only 58 receiving yards. Sharpe also advised that Kelce should have taken a rest day on Friday rather than board a plane.
Travis Kelce
While Sharpe does raise some interesting points in his rant, saying that the star tight end going to the World Series is the reason the Chiefs lost the game is a reach. Kelce has consistently been the best tight end in football for the last few seasons and he had a bad game, which happens to even the best. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes had one of the worst outings of his career, which could have been from the flu-like symptoms that he was dealing with. So why does Sharpe only blame Kelce for the loss on Sunday, when it’s a team effort at the end of the day?
Speaking of getting on planes, Kansas City will be flying across the pond to play in Germany and face the high-powered Miami Dolphins. The Chiefs are currently sitting at a 6-2 record which is tied for the best record in the entire AFC conference. They have taken command of the first-place position in the AFC West and are not showing any signs of giving that up any time soon.
