Thursday Night Football is known for giving us duds from time to time. This week’s Thursday Night Football contest is definitely a stinker, with the New England Patriots (2-10) visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5). One might say this is the worst team Bill Belichick has ever coached, however others might say this is all Belichick’s doing, as he is the GM as well as the head coach, and he is responsible for the roster.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are actually in the first wildcard spot in the AFC, however this team is simply not very good. They are 25th in yards per game, although they did play better after the firing of Matt Canada. However with Kenny Pickett going down last week, Mitch Trubisky will get the start for the black & gold.
Trubisky was quoted as saying, “They’re always very sound, I think their guys up front don’t get a lot of credit, but they’re very good players, always well coached. They do a good job of mixing it up trying to confuse the quarterback with different looks.”
New England’s offense is terrible, they have only scored 13 points in their last three games, and they are coming off getting shut out 6-0 to the Chargers at home last week. Bailey Zappe started for Mac Jones who was finally benched, and completed 13 of 25 passes for 141 yards.
All signs point to Zappe starting again here for New England, and like the old saying goes, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.
1st Player Prop for Thursday Night Football
Bailey Zappe UNDER 0.5 TD Passes (-110 @ DraftKings)
Last week, Zappe could not find the endzone through the air and that was against a suspect Charger defense. Pittsburgh is a mid tier defense but keep in mind TJ Watt will be after the young QB all night which can potentially put the Patriots in 3rd & Long all night long. Even if New England scores they might just hand the ball off so the under on TD’s is not a bad look.
2nd Player Prop for Thursday Night Football:
Mitchell Trubisky UNDER 180.5 Passing Yards (-110 @ DraftKings)
Keep in mind that Trubisky has not started for a few years. He looked good against the Cardinals last week, completing 11 of 17 passes for 117 yards. However that was a terrible Arizona defense, and as terrible as the Patriots are, they are a top 10 defense. The Steelers will likely try to establish the run here and run the clock as much as possible, so we feel Trubisky un1er 180.5 passing yards is a decent wager.
3rd Player Prop for Thursday Night Football:
Patriots vs Steelers Un1er 30 points
Why not tail the under if we are riding the under wave for Thursday Night Football? Remember, this total has gone UNDER in 11 of the Steelers last 12 games against the AFC East, and they have gone under in 10 of 12 games in general this season, probably because of their lack of offense. Also the Steelers might be missing Najee Harris so their running game might be a little lackluster, and we like this game to go under 30 points, which is the lowest NFL total in the last 15 years.
Thursday Night Football just keeps giving us boring games over and over again, but on the bright side, it’s always a chance to make some money. Best of luck and let’s cash.

A sure bet is that Belechik, even with an inferior team, will ALWAYS outsmart and out coach the quizzling Tomlin. Seen it too many times over the years. Bill makes Mike look like JV.
I agree, if this isn’t a back against the wall spot for Bill I don’t know what is.
