The Texas Longhorns are looking to enshrine a new era to the football program in the 2025 season when Arch Manning takes over the reins for Quinn Ewers. Texas has not won the National Title in 20 seasons and there are some who feel like Manning can get this football program to heights that Vince Young was able to achieve with them.

Texas finished with an 11-1 record during the 2024 season. They lost to the Georgia Bulldogs in the regular season and in the SEC Championship Game. The Longhorns went to the semifinals in the college football playoffs before they lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes. Where will Manning be ranked as one of the top players in the sport before the 2025 season?
Texas Longhorns Quarterback Arch Manning Ranked Behind Garrett Nussmeier and Cade Klubnik Before the 2025 College Football Season

Brad Crawford of 247sports.com created a Top 10 college football rankings list ahead of the 2025 season. There were a few interesting quarterback names on the list. To no surprise, Manning was ranked in the Top 10 on the list that Crawford created, but he was ranked sixth on the list.
He was ranked behind Garrett Nussmeier of the LSU Tigers at number five and Cade Klubnik of the Clemson Tigers at number four. Despite Manning being ranked behind both of them, Crawford thinks that Arch will be one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy during the 2025 college football season. He said,
“Once spring practice is over, Arch Manning will be three years into Steve Sarkisian’s offensive system and will finally get his opportunity to shine in 2025 with Quinn Ewers off to the NFL. You’re going to see the Longhorns able to do more offensively from a quarterback run standpoint, too. While the pass-catchers will be different around Manning along with a four new starters along the offensive line, the preseason Heisman frontrunner has a chance to ascend to top billing nationally as the face of a program that should get back to the playoff as one of the SEC’s favorites.”
Manning is 6’4″ and weighs 225 lbs. A season ago with Texas, he completed 67.8% of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also had a QBR (quarterback rating) of 87.5. Manning also had a couple of rushing touchdowns in the 2024 season with the Longhorns.
Even though Klubnik and Nussmeier have started in more games than their respective football programs than Manning has, it could be the only reason why they are ranked ahead of him entering the 2025 college football season. However, Arch has more talent than the both of them and he will be the top ranked quarterback on the list at some point, but everyone knows that Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremaih Smith will be the top player in the nation.
