The Texas Longhorns are going through spring practices to get in preparation for the 2025 college football season. Texas has been one of the top teams in the country for the last couple of years.

The Longhorns have made it to the college football playoffs semifinals in the last two seasons. Head coach Steve Sarkisian will be entering his fifth season with the Texas football program. Quarterback Arch Manning is looking to accomplish something for this program that has not been accomplished in nearly 20 years, win a National Championship.
Texas Longhorns Head Coach Steve Sarkisian Praises Arch Manning’s Leadership

Texas’s head coach appeared on the latest “Clean Pocket” Podcast with former Texas quarterback Colt McCoy. The head coach was asked about transitioning from Quinn Ewers to Manning for the 2025 college football season. Sarkisian said,
“(His) leadership – this guy’s got a charismatic…you can feel it, and that’s not a knock against Quinn, everybody leads differently, but he’s got something about him that guys gravitate to. That’s always a great thing to have as a quarterback. You want the players to play for you, not in spite of you. (As the quarterback) you want those guys to want to play even better because of who you are, not because ‘I need to do it for me, man,’- they want to do it, and Arch has that about him. He’s talented and nobody works harder, nobody is in the film room more.”
It is going to be interesting to see if the Longhorns offense will hit another gear in 2025 with Manning leading the way. It is going to feel different with him starting for Texas compared to Ewers. During the 2024 college football season, Manning he completed 67.8% of his passes for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions.
He also had a couple of rushing touchdowns. He is 6’4″ and weighs 225 lbs. There is a chance that Manning could be one of the front runners for the Heisman Trophy in 2025. The Longhorns feel like there will be something different in the room for 2025 with Manning leading the way for Sarkisian’s squad.
