The Texas Longhorns are coming off a very successful season. Despite losing in the semifinals, the program is moving in the right direction for the first time in a long time. They were able to secure a top offensive weapon from the transfer portal. Former Alabama receiver Isaiah Bond announced committing to the Longhorns days after entering the portal.

Texas Longhorns Land WR Isaiah Bond
Bond is only the fourth player the Longhorns have gotten from the transfer portal this offseason. However, quality over quantity seems to be what head coach Steve Sarkisian is going for. Bond had a solid 2023 season with 48 receptions for 668 yards and four touchdowns. The 48 receptions led the team. Bond said that he went to Texas because it was the best business decision for him.
“Just like the business world, you make the best decision for your company. My company right now is my draft stock. I feel like I’m putting myself in position to increase that and have better draft stock.”
“I like the whole package that comes with it. Great quarterback, they have a great offensive line. I felt like it was a great spot for me to come to.”

2024 Outlook
Things are looking good in Texas right now. Starting quarterback Quinn Ewers is coming back for another season. With Bond and many other talented offensive weapons, this should be one of the most difficult units to stop in the country. The Longhorns will have plenty of opportunities to play the top teams as they move to the SEC and have a big non-conference matchup against the defending champion Michigan Wolverines early in the season.

Can the Texas Longhorns dominate the SEC? They certainly look like one of the early favorites with the players they have on the roster currently.
