The Texas Longhorns heard about the noise before the matchup with the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday afternoon at the Cotton Bowl. Texas did not mess around against Oklahoma and dominated them by a final score of 34-3.
This was also the first game that Quinn Ewers returned from injury. He exactly didn’t light it up, but he was good enough. Ewers completed 20-of-29 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Texas Longhorns Fans Were Ecstatic That They Stay Number 1 In the AP Poll
Unsurprisingly, the Longhorns are the number-one ranked team in the country entering another week of college football. They will host the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend. Here is what Texas fans had to say about staying number one in the nation:
It’s a good year to be a Longhorn fan

LMAOOO AND THEY WANTED “OREGON” TO BE #1 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏

Texas Longhorns have every right to believe that they are the number one team in the nation in college football. Texas has looked like they are the best team through the first month and a half of the 2024 college football season. The Longhorns could be on track to the top seed in the college football playoffs if they keep this up.
People Wanted the Oregon Ducks To Be the Number 1 Team in the AP Poll
There were crazy folks on Twitter who wanted the Oregon Ducks ranked ahead of the Texas Longhorns after Oregon defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes 32-31 at home on Saturday night. The truth is, Texas is better than Oregon and they would probably beat them right now.
Longhorns fans would have erupted had Oregon leapfrogged the Longhorns in the AP Polls. The 56 voters got it right here.
