The Green Bay Packers are getting a massive boost on both sides of the ball less than two hours before their Week Six matchup at Lambeau Field against the Arizona Cardinals. Of course, the offense already knew at last one player that was not active last week, Romeo Doubs (suspension) would be back against the Cardinals.
Even though there was certainty surrounding Doubs’ availability, there were still questions surrounding other star players who missed last week due to injury. Most notably, two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander and big-time wide receiver Christian Watson both missed the win last week.
Both will be active against Arizona.
Jaire Alexander and Christian Watson Are Active for the Green Bay Packers
According to the Packers’ website, both Alexander and Watson will be active for the game against the Cardinals on Sunday. Alexander missed the last two games with a hip/groin injury while Watson missed Week Five.
Fans may recall that Watson was injured in Green Bay’s Week Four game against the Minnesota Vikings. When he first got hurt, many feared that he would be out for weeks or even for the whole season. After the game, it was inaccurately reported that he had suffered a high ankle sprain, which usually takes about three weeks to heal.
Watson is back after missing just one game.
The third-year wide receiver has five receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown in four games this season. While his receiving numbers may not be what fans expected them to be, he is a crucial part of the offense due to his incredible blocking abilities. Defenses also have to respect his speed, which helps leave other pass catchers open.
Alexander has two interceptions, including a pick-six, in three games this season. He was off to the best start of his career before missing the last two games.
Inactive Players for the Green Bay Packers vs the Arizona Cardinals
Devonte Wyatt will not play again due to an ankle injury. Other players not active today are:
- Kitan Oladapo
- Brenton Cox Jr.
- Andre Dillard
- Travis Glover
- John Fitzpatrick
Fitzpatrick, a tight end, was recently signed off of the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. Second-year tight end Luke Musgrave was just placed on injured reserve.
