The Texas A&M Aggies are going to need some time to rebuild the program. Any program that goes through a coaching change will see a lot of player turnover. For the Aggies, the amount of talent that is leaving the building makes this instance seem even worse. The program lost another player today when class of 2024 wide receiver Debron Gatling decommitted.

Texas A&M Class Of 2024 WR Debron Gatling Decommits
Gatling has been committed to the Aggies since December of 2022. The three-star receiver isn’t ranked very high on most boards but that does not mean he isn’t being heavily recruited. He currently holds over 40 offers from some of the top programs including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and LSU. He had this to say in a statement to On3.
“After careful consideration and discussions with my family, I have decided to decommit from Texas A&M. I appreciate the support and opportunities provided and wish the program the best in the future.”
Jimbo Fisher Was A Great Recruiter
Fisher was excellent at getting players to come to College Station. The number of top recruits who have either decommitted or entered the transfer portal in the past couple of weeks is staggering. What is even more staggering is the fact that Fisher couldn’t put a winning team on the field despite all of the talent on the roster. New head coach Mike Elko is going to have his hands full with the program and it might be a couple of years before this program stabilizes.
Can Texas A&M get some wins in the transfer portal? They have already started to see some interest from players and might be able to recoup some talent for 2024.
