The Tennessee Titans Entering A New Era In The AFC South
The world is changing, and what may perhaps be the strangest change of them all comes in the form of a new bright, sparkling rebranded AFC South – which is actually, somehow, good.
For the first time in a very long time, there are genuine expectations for 3 of the 4 teams in the AFC South: the Indianapolis Colts were one caught ball away from the playoffs with a backup quarterback, Gardner Minshew, replacing their impressive rookie QB, Anthony Richardson, for the majority of the season after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
The Houston Texans shocked the NFL world by making it to the AFC divisional round with rookie sensation, CJ Stroud, and the Jacksonville Jaguars still have franchise quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, surrounded by a still mostly strong roster with their Super Bowl-winning head coach, Doug Peterson.
A Changing Of The Guard In Tennessee
Yet, for the Tennessee Titans, having fired Mike Vrabel before getting the chance to trade him, in order to get a start on the year’s head coaching market, are very much in rebuilding mode with last year’s rookie 2nd round pick, Will Levis.
As such, many pieces of the old guard, like former franchise quarterback, Ryan Tannehill and star defensive lineman, Denico Autry. And now, quite possibly former Offensive Player of the Year, Derrick Henry, could all be expendable, per Jeremy Fowler.
Running back Derrick Henry is unlikely to return to the Tennessee #Titans after a historic eight-year run, per sources, though the door is not completely closed.

How Will The Tennessee Titans Fare Without Derrick Henry?
No one really knows for the moment. Whilst he certainly has had an illustrious career, he is not quite the destructive, bulldozing force that he was in his prime, where he helped the Titans to an AFC Championship appearance against eventual winners (as always) the Kansas City Chiefs.
Yet, even this year, he was still productive, posting 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns, averaging a respectable, whilst not lethal, 4.2 yards per carry.
The Titans will also be buoyed by the impressive play of rookie Tyjae Spears, who had a strong rookie season despite mostly being deployed as the 3rd down back.
The Titans’ season will almost certainly rely upon the play of Will Levis above all else, however, a strong running game could be a harbinger of success in Nashville.
Let’s see if the TennesseeTitans do in fact jettison Henry, and bring in a new back this year to replace him, or if they are able to figure out his contract and ride it back with the veteran another year.
