The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not done signing free agents. Recently, they made headlines by extending QB Baker Mayfield for another three years. However, Mayfield is not the only quarterback that the Buccaneers have signed. Now, they have added yet another quarterback to their roster. Read below to find out more.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Reach Agreement With John Wolford
According to Jason Licht, the general manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team has reached an agreement with QB John Wolford. He did not play a single game during the 2023 NFL season. Plus, Wolford has only played seven games in his NFL career.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Moving Forward
Will Wolford see any playing time? It is unlikely considering the team just re-signed Baker Mayfield. However, Wolford has shown in the past he is capable of performing under pressure.
Three years ago, Wolford started in a wild card game for the Los Angeles Rams against the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams ended up winning that game. However, Wolford was replaced by Jared Goff early in that game due to a neck injury. Hopefully, for the Buccaneers, it does not come down to this again.
