It was another ugly loss for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday as they fell to the Indianapolis Colts, 27-20, in their Week 12 matchup. After seeing the Bucs lose their sixth game in their last seven outings, there’s absolutely no denying that the struggle is real for this squad.
Just as quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield Sends Strong Message
A disappointed Mayfield spoke to reporters after Sunday’s showdown, and the 28-year-old got brutally honest with his post-game assessment of his squad’s performance:
“One game back in the division, so, our goals are still in front of us,” Mayfield said (h/t Myles Simmons of PFT). “But it’s frustrating to not win these games and continue to hurt ourselves. The Colts capitalized. They played well — not taking anything away from them. But, it’s very frustrating to continue to kind of have the same story over and over again.
“So, until everybody gets pissed off enough to get it fixed, there will be no change. … I’ll get my job fixed and try and drag as many people [as possible] along as well.”

Thanks to their strong start to the season, the Bucs are still very much alive in the NFC South. As Mayfield said, their 4-7 record still stands a fighting chance against the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints, who have an identical 5-6 record.
As Mayfield also stated, however, Tampa Bay needs to get their affairs in order at the soonest possible time if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. It starts with Sunday’s matchup against the 1-10 Carolina Panthers, who are currently sitting at the bottom of the barrel in the NFC South.
Needless to say, the Bucs can’t afford to lose that one.
