The University of Oklahoma continues to make moves in July, recruiting the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri. Offensive tackle Cayden Green chose the Sooners over LSU, Missouri, and Nebraska.
Green’s commitment comes two days after four-star wide receiver Jaquaize Pettaway joined the Sooners. Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh earns credit for the recruitment. During Bedenbaugh’s OU tenure, Green is the second-highest-rated recruit the OL coach has reeled in.
Growing up a Sooners fan, the OT officially visited Oklahoma’s campus in early June. After taking trips to other schools, he recognized the relationships built with Oklahoma’s staff and made his decision.
“He is really hard nosed and will coach you hard but from the players I’ve talked to, you can tell it’s out of love and him wanting to get the best out of you.”

Where Does Cayden Green Rank?
The four-star OT attends Lee’s Summit North High School, building his talents to rank as the No. 2 rising senior in Michigan.
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound prospect sits at No. 77 on ESPN’s Class of 2023 Top 300. He received an 85 scout grade and is the eighth-best offensive tackle in the nation.

In Conclusion
The Sooners bring in their 12th commit after recruiting Green. Oklahoma jumps from No. 25 to No. 18 in the nation for their Class of 2023 recruiting cycle.
Cayden Green is Oklahoma’s fourth four-star commit, joining Pettaway, running back Kalib Hicks, and linebacker Samuel Omosigho.
Oklahoma traditionally relied on the transfer portal when building depth to their offensive line. However, new head coach Brent Venables wants to mix up the recruiting and bring in young prospects. Venables adds his third player in the month of July.
