Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you are enjoying the time watching football with your family. Here is my list of sits for week 12.
Darnell Mooney WR Chicago Bears
Mooney has been good over the last couple of weeks but he is on my list of sits for week 12. First, there is quarterback uncertainty. If Fields is out, I am not touching Mooney with a 10-foot pole. However, even if Fields plays I am still out on Mooney for the week. The Jets have an awesome defense. Against the pass, they have been lights out with Sauce Gardner looking like a shutdown corner. I do not expect Mooney to get many opportunities and if he does, he is going to have to work for those catches.
Chris Olave WR New Orleans Saints

Olave has been the best rookie receiver in my opinion. This week he is on my list of sits for week 12. The matchup is horrible for him. The 49ers’ defense is playing extremely well right now. While their pass defense is not amazing, the front seven of the defense is going to give the Saints trouble. Andy Dalton is far past his prime as a starter. Olave might be a wide receiver that you have been relying on this whole season but for this week, I would bench him.
Travis Etienne Jr. RB Jacksonville Jaguars

I am one of the lucky owners who benefitted from Etienne’s rise. This week, however, I have him on my list of sits for week 12. His matchup against the Ravens is a tough one. Since the Ravens traded for Roquan Smith, their defense has been much better. The linebacker crew as a whole has shut down opposing running backs very well in the last couple of weeks. I think that Etienne will have a tough time getting going in the running game. He may pick up some points in the passing game but I still think it is too risky to start him.
Cordarrelle Patterson RB Atlanta Falcons

Patterson is another player who I think has a bad matchup which is why I have him on my list of sits for week 12. The Commanders have shut down running backs in the past four weeks. In the last month, they have allowed the fewest points to running backs in the entire league. This wasn’t against bad competition either. Dameon Pierce and Dalvin Cook are two running backs that have been shut down by the Commanders’ defense. Outside of the matchup, Patterson has also only been getting half of the carries in the offense. He is maybe a flex play but honestly, I’d just sit him this week.
The Jets Offense
Zach Wilson has lost his starting job. I don’t think that matters from a fantasy perspective which is why I have the entire offense on my list of sits for week 12. We have no idea who the quarterback is. Maybe Mike White comes in and lights it up on the field and I look like a fool. Or maybe Joe Flacco chugs a gallon of water from the fountain of youth and the offense comes alive. I’ll be happy to admit I was wrong if that happens. The matchup against the Bears isn’t a bad one. I just have no confidence that the Jets’ offense will be able to gain any traction.
That is my list of sits for week 12 in fantasy football. Check out my list of starts as well. Have a great holiday weekend!
