The Seattle Seahawks are looking to make the postseason in 2024 after missing out last year. With the regular season coming soon, teams are getting their star players ready to perform at a high level again. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, one of their star players suffered a gruesome injury during the team’s final preseason matchup against the Cleveland Browns, and he is set to miss significant time.
Seattle Seahawks Star Injured
Seattle’s star linebacker Uchenna Nwosu suffered an MCL sprain in the team’s final preseason game and will be out between two to six weeks. Nwosu missed most of the season in 2023 with a pectoral injury but was still able to notch two sacks with a pair of forced fumbles.
#Seahawks top edge Uchenna Nwosu, who has had an excellent training camp, suffered a knee injury Saturday night that will cause him to miss multiple weeks and make him a candidate to begin 2024 on Injured Reserve, sources say.

Better look at Nwosu’s injury

Unfortunate injury, but good to hear he's expected to be back around 4-5 weeks into the season.
Also note, the #Seahawks have two weeks until the season opener, so those two weeks are two more weeks for Nwosu to recover while not missing game time. https://t.co/90NlaLfwY8

We’ve been atrocious on defense since the Nwosu injury. The fact that losing one player can affect us so much is really on the coaching.

Uchena Nwosu Career
The veteran linebacker was drafted in 2018 by the Los Angeles Chargers, where he spent most of his career (2018-2021). He had his best career year with the Seahawks in 2022, amounting to 66 tackles, 9.5 sacks and three forced fumbles, quickly becoming one of the best players on Seattle’s defense. He has 213 total tackles, 26.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles and an interception in his six-year career.
With Nwosu likely to be place on the injured reserve list before the start of the regular season, the team will have to look for other answers in the linebacker department, possibly by signing a free agent or even a trade.
