The Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears are looking to make the playoffs in 2024. Seattle has a lot to build off from the 2023 season, however, their division is one of the deepest in football and it will be difficult to challenge the 49ers and Rams for the crown.
The Bears have a brand new era in town and expect to start winning games with Caleb Williams under center. However, these two teams just agreed to a fairly surprising trade.
The Seattle Seahawks Trade Starter To Chicago In Surprise Move
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero:
Trade! The Seahawks are sending LB Darrell Taylor to the #Bears for a 2025 sixth-round pick, per source.
Darrell Taylor was being replaced for Seattle. Boye Mafe and Derick Hall were also selected with premium top 40 selections since the Seahawks invested in Taylor in 2020. Uchenna Nwosu was also paid $15 million a year.
In the past three seasons, Taylor has recorded 21.5 sacks, but he has also been benched for his inconsistent run defense. Taylor has started 13 games for Seattle, while appearing in 49.
Chicago gives him a new start in a defense that loves to get pressure on the quarterback.
