The Seattle Seahawks have a quick turnaround from week 11 to 12. After a heartbreaking last-second loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Seahawks have to prepare for a Thanksgiving night matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. They might have to play the game without Geno Smith. The quarterback was injured and his week 12 status is in doubt.

Seattle Seahawks Geno Smith Injury Update
Smith took a massive hit from Aaron Donald and many feared the worst when an elbow injury was reported. Head coach Pete Carroll said that it is a bruised tricep for Smith. “Geno got a bruise kind of on his triceps, back of his elbow that kind of blew up a little bit, but he was able to come back and execute, so nice effort by him,” Carroll said. Smith seemed optimistic that the injury wasn’t long-term. “A little sore, not the best, but God is good, so I’ll just keep pushing,” he said when asked about the elbow.
Quick Turnaround
If this was a normal week, it would be something to monitor but not a big deal. The fact that the Seahawks play again in three days is what makes this a big deal. It seems unlikely that if there is any severity with this injury Smith will be able to play against the 49ers. However, it is a game the team desperately needs. With the loss to the Rams, the team falls to 6-4 and there are other teams lurking to take that seventh playoff spot. If the Seahawks lose on Thursday, they could be in a precarious position.
The good news for the Seattle Seahawks is that it does not seem like the injury to Geno Smith is long-term. It doesn’t help them for week 12 but could help if they are trying to fend off teams later in the season.
