Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll informed reporters Wednesday afternoon that though he and coaches don’t like to talk about it in detail, they “have acknowledged” the possibility that safety Jamal Adams could miss the remainder of the season.
Adams has been dealing with a knee injury and, according to Carrol, was at home while the Seahawks took on the Philidelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football last week.
Pete Carroll says #Seahawks "have acknowledged" the possibility of shutting down Jamal Adams (knee) for the rest of the season, but he and they don't want to do that right now.

Adams has played in nine games this season for the Seahawks.
What Should The Seattle Seahawks Do Moving Forward?
This is a tough situation for Seattle, which is currently right in the middle of the race for the NFC Playoffs, which would place them as the first team out were the season to end today.
It’s no secret that Adam’s play has slipped, due no doubt to his lingering injury. Adams has yet to force a turnover this season and sits at 48 tackles on the year with two pass deflections, zero interceptions and zero forced fumbles. Folks, that’s not exactly what you want from your massive blockbuster trade score from a few years ago.
That brings us back to the strange situation from Monday night. Some fans on social media (in the comments of the above post) have pointed out that they believe this whole saga may go beyond health issues and fall strictly on performance issues. Of course, no real reports back up those claims as of Dec. 20.
The Seattle Seahawks face winnable games across the final 3 weeks of the season: At Tennessee, vs. Pittsburgh and at Arizona to finish the year. Win out and a playoff spot is very likely.
Let’s see what the Seahawks are made of.
