Eagles @ Seahawks Injury Report
Monday Night Football
Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts: An illness has Hurts listed as questionable. It’s currently unclear whether he’ll be well enough to play. If not, Marcus Mariota will take the reins this week. Mariota has certainly regressed as a passer. If he does start, expect at least 20 rushing attempts for D’Andre Swift.
Cam Jurgens: A pectoral injury has Philadelphia’s right guard inactive this week. Jurgens started off the season well, but has been struggling lately. He still would’ve been an upgrade over backup Suo Opeta. With Opeta in the lineup, expect Philadelphia to have less success running the ball against Seattle’s third-ranked rush defense.
Zach Cunningham: The Eagles will also be without their starting weakside linebacker as he deals with a knee injury. Cunningham has been decently productive this year, ranking up 51 tackles thus far. Backup Nicholas Morrow will likely take his place in the lineup. Morrow has graded very similarly to Cunningham in both tackling and coverage. With Darius Leonard now entering the lineup, the Eagles are in a good spot for their linebacking core.
Darius Slay: A knee injury will sideline the Eagles’ best corner for this week and likely longer. With James Bradberry IV struggling in coverage this year, DK Metcalf should have a sizable advantage. It’s a bit unclear right now, but it looks like Elias Ricks will slide over to cover Tyler Lockett. With both of those two facing a depleted cornerback unit that’s also last in passing, expect great games from both Metcalf and Lockett.
Seattle Seahawks
Geno Smith: A groin injury has the Seahawks’ starting quarterback officially listed as questionable. He was not able to participate fully in practice. If he isn’t able to suit up, Drew Lock will start in his place. He’s one of the better backups in the league and should keep Seattle competitive for most of the game. Still, expect him to throw at least one interception.
Devon Witherspoon: Although not listed as out, Witherspoon has not practiced all week due to a hip injury. If he’s not able to go, expect Julian Love to start in the slot. He’s been a bit inconsistent in coverage, but is a good overall player. If Witherspoon doesn’t play, expect quality matchups for A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith for when they rotate into the slot.
Jamal Adams: A knee injury has Adams officially listed as questionable. He did not participate in practice this week. If he doesn’t play, Julian Love will likely take his spot in the rotation. If he does, expect worse tackling from the safety group this week.
