After falling to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football to begin Week 13 NFL action, the Seattle Seahawks are very much fighting for their playoff lives. With the NFC playoff picture becoming cloudy towards the bottom, Pete Carroll and company know that things will only get more difficult. However, no one in Seattle is ready to get depressed about the loss or throw in any kind of towel.
Throughout the course of the 2023 season, the Seahawks have been a complete roller-coaster. They have shown signs of being a serious contender, but have also put up some major dud performances. No one truly knows what exactly they are.
Following the tough loss to the Cowboys, Carroll spoke out and made a bold statement about the rest of the season for his team.
“This season is nowhere anywhere [near] told. This story is not told what’s going to happen. We got great chances again in the next couple weeks against teams that are worthy of being on the top of this thing at the end. And we’re going to show that we’re worthy of being right there with them to get them. Knock a couple of them off and do something right with this thing.”
What’s Next For Pete Carroll And The Seattle Seahawks?
Speaking of what’s coming up for the Seahawks in the next few weeks, the road does not get any easier. In Week 14, they will have to travel to San Francisco for a tough divisional rivalry matchup with the 49ers. Then, in Week 15, they will play host to the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Following those two brutal gams, Seattle will end the season on the road against the Tennessee Titans, at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and on the road against the Arizona Cardinals.
If they can steal one of the next two games against either the 49ers or Eagles, they could be in a great spot. The Titans, Steelers, and Cardinals are all very beatable teams. Carroll and company simply need to stay the course and come through with a big upset in the next two weeks.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see how the Seahawks finish out their season. They are currently the No. 7 seed in the NFC with a 6-6 record. Behind them are the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, and New Orleans Saints, who are all 5-6.
Carroll still has full confidence in his football team and it will be interesting to see if they prove him right.
