According to reports, the San Francisco 49ers held talks with the Washington Commanders on a potential blockbuster trade deal for Brandon Aiyuk. Negotiations reportedly fell apart and nothing came to fruition, which has led to Aiyuk still stuck in his current conundrum.
Well, Aiyuk caught wind of the trade rumors linking him to Washington, and his reaction only adds more fuel to the flame of what could be his looming exit from San Francisco.

A report posted by JPAFootball on Instagram detailed the botched trade between the Niners and the Commanders. Aiyuk could not help but comment on the post with a cryptic message aimed at his current team:
“But I thought the niners were never tryna trade me?” Aiyuk wrote.

That can’t be good. This can’t be the first time Aiyuk has heard about the trade rumors, but the fact that he’s commented on a specific report speaks volumes. The 26-year-old wideout doesn’t seem too pleased with the report either, and this adds yet another layer to the ongoing saga.
It appears that Aiyuk and the Niners are still trying to sort things out in terms of agreeing on a new deal, but it also would not be a complete shock if a trade is announced in the near future.
