Bosa did not have to say much, but you know that the fans are going to be all hyped up with this. There was some doubt surrounding the reigning Defensive Player of the Year’s future with the team as the contract holdout extended so deep into the offseason. In fact, both camps were finally able to come to an agreement just four days before the 49ers‘ season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Well, all that doubt has been thrown out the window now that the All-Pro DL has committed his future with the squad. He’s now also set to start on Sunday as the Niners open their campaign.
Nick Bosa Resets Market With $170 Million Contract
Nick Bosa is now set to earn a whopping $34 million per year with his new deal. He is now officially one of the highest-paid players in the league. In fact, the three-time Pro Bowler now holds the record for the largest salary for a non-quarterback.
This title used to belong to Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald, who is earning $31.7 million per season after penning a three-year extension with LA last year. Well, Bosa just reset the market with his new deal, and this is now going to be the new benchmark moving forward.
You have to say that Chris Jones and the Kansas City Chiefs are watching all this unfold with a keen eye.
