The San Francisco 49ers will enjoy a much-needed weekend off after beating the Seattle Seahawks 36-24 on Thursday Night Football. San Francisco will have ten days between their tilt against Seattle and their upcoming matchup with the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. However, the absence of a Sunday contest did not nullify any fines handed out by the league office for actions performed the week prior.
On Saturday, the San Francisco 49ers organization, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, and cornerback Charvarius Ward found themselves in the crosshairs of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, receiving $115,324 in fines. The last 49ers player fined this season was George Odum in Week 2 for a face mask.

In their divisional tilt against the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward tangled with pass-catcher Trey McBride on his team’s sideline. During the scuffle, an inactive Dre Greenlaw, who was in street clothes as he remains on the mend for a torn left Achilles’ tendon suffered in last year’s Super Bowl, pushed McBride in the side. The Aftermath resulted in Greenlaw receiving a $14,069 fine. More notably, the 49ers received a $100,000 fine, with Ward also receiving a monetary penalty for a facemask on McBride before the sideline pushing match.
Alongside San Francisco, the NFL fined Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman Vita Veta a combined $33,766 for unsportsmanlike conduct. The league is approaching $7 million in fines after Saturday’s announcement.
