The Tampa Bay Buccaneers need a quarterback
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers must find a replacement for Tom Brady in the coming months. That’s a tall order for a team with $56 million in the red for cap space, according to Over The Cap. A new report names two potential options for the Buccaneers’ next signal caller.
The Buccaneers’ experiment with Brady worked for the franchise. They made three straight playoff runs and won a Super Bowl. But now the team will need to rebuild before their next run. The Buccaneers plan to give quarterback Kyle Trask a chance to be the team’s next quarterback. But the Buccaneers should bring in a veteran quarterback to challenge Trask in camp.
According to a report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Buccaneers’ two veteran options at quarterback next season are Baker Mayfield and Drew Lock.

Tampa is looking to add a veteran and Fowler says the people he spoke with mentioned both Mayfield and Lock as options.

Mayfield would be the biggest name for the Buccaneers to grab. He struggled with the Carolina Panthers early in the 2022 season. However, the former first-round pick shined in a few games as the Los Angeles Rams quarterback. He would be a good and potentially cheap option for the Buccaneers at quarterback next season.
