Julio Jones Career
The veteran receiver has been quiet as far as production since leaving the Falcons. Jones has had a great career, amounting to 13,629 receiving yards and 63 touchdowns. He has been recognized as one of the best receivers in the league and will now try to look to get back to that form in Philadelphia. He has played for the Falcons, Titans, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jones was the Falcons’ first-round pick in 2011 when getting drafted to the team. He was traded to the Tennessee Titans in 2021 after his long and storied career in Atlanta, which shocked a lot of fans. Now, he has been traded again to the Eagles in 2023. In 2022, Jones appeared in 10 games for Tampa Bay and amounted to 299 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
What it Means for the Eagles
This trade can pay huge dividends to the Eagles as they already have a stacked receiving room. He will be playing alongside A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. On top of that, he will have emerging quarterback Jalen Hurts throwing him the ball, which can serve as a huge disadvantage to opposing defenses.
Jones will be in the wide receiver three spot on the team. He is on a one-year deal with the Eagles and will look for production like he had with the Falcons. Eagles fans everywhere are ecstatic about this signing, saying that this almost guarantees them a Super Bowl this season. It will be interesting to see what the veteran receiver can bring to the table.
