The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired wide receiver Allen Robinson from the Los Angeles Rams last week. After being one of the most highly coveted free agents last season, Robinson was disappointing on the field. The Rams basically gave him up for nothing. All the Steelers had to do was give up a seventh-round pick and take on the contract. In a recent interview, Robinson did not hold back his feelings on how he was used in LA.

Allen Robinson Blasts Rams After Trade To The Pittsburgh Steelers
The receiver said that the Steelers, who historically have been able to get the most out of their wide receivers, “have a good vision for me.” He went on to say this about his time in LA.
“If you’re a fork you don’t want to be used as a spoon the majority of the time.”
Robinson thinks that the Rams simply didn’t know how to use him. They kept trying to make him into something that he wasn’t. Los Angeles had a whole bunch of problems last season as the team was recovering from going all-in for a Super Bowl and Robinson may have been a casualty of that.
A Prove-It Year
If this is true, Robinson needs to prove it this year. He is in a great situation. Diontae Johnson and George Pickens are the top two wide receivers meaning that Robinson doesn’t have to be the focus of the offense. Kenny Pickett showed promise last year and at least will be a consistent presence rather than the revolving door that was the Rams’ quarterback position last year. Everything is set for him to have a bounce-back season. Now he just needs to prove that he still has some left in the tank.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were smart to take a flyer on Allen Robinson. If it doesn’t work out, they haven’t lost much. If it does, they have gotten one of the steals of the offseason.
